Team Samaritan House is blessed to have wonderful sponsors
that help us accomplish our mission of bringing hope to the homeless in
Colorado and we wanted to take the opportunity for you to hear their stories.
If you find you or someone you know is need of their services, we sincerely
hope that you will reach out to them.
Meet Leslie Prevish of Prevish Marketing. This is Leslie
with her fiancé Patrick at the 2018 Ride the Rockies sporting their Team
Samaritan House cycling outfits:
What inspired you to be
a sponsor of Team Samaritan House?
Denver Catholic Charities does incredible work to help those
experiencing homelessness. I’ve volunteered with some of the centers and have seen
first-hand how The Samaritan House and Marisol Homes have changed lives. It has
been an honor to ride with the team in 2014, 2016 and 2018. I decided to be a
sponsor in 2019 as it is a busy year and I’m just able to be there in spirit.
I’m getting married at the end of June to a wonderful man I met through a
mutual Ride the Rockies friend. In lieu of gifts, we’ve asked people to
contribute to Catholic Charities.
Tell us a bit about
your experiences in riding with the team?
Each of the rides – and riders – have unique memories. One
of my favorites from last year was the daily Mass last year with Fr. Creus, who
also rode on the team. Each year I’ve had laminated cards with 400+ names of
friends and family. I’ve prayed for them as I struggled up the hills and on the
long stretches. Many rosaries – and the beautiful scenery – have also helped me
overcome fatigue and frustration at times. I’ve thought about the homeless
during many miles, and how the fundraising efforts of the team provide Catholic
Charities with resources to help thousands in their struggles each day.
The camaraderie on the team is a blessing. I’ve met so many
fantastic people on the team – and throughout the ride. Several are still close
friends. I must admit I have also enjoyed speeding down the hills on the long
mountain descents – that’s the moto/adventurous part of me!
I’d encourage anyone
thinking about riding in the future to try it! I’ve been so blessed as a member
of the team, and enjoyed the adventures in the past few years.
Tell us about your
company and the products and services you provide.
I moved to Colorado and started Prevish Marketing in 2013
after spending 18 years in the corporate world with Harley-Davidson and Trek
Bicycles. I help companies be more strategic with marketing and public
relations. In the past, I’ve worked with several outdoor and healthy lifestyle
companies, including Strider Bikes, Gerber Gear, American Diabetes Association
and several others. One of my current clients is the Fellowship of Catholic
University Students (FOCUS). I’m also working with a client on market research
for a new fitness and relaxation product.
